CALLAHO BOARD OPTIONS


Callaho offers various aftersales ‘stay-put’ options to enable buyers to have peace of mind regarding any possible scenario’s which may unfold post-auction. These options are also available to horses that need to return to the Western Cape but may not immediately do so due to AHS restrictions on equine movement.

On the "fall of the hammer" all horses are insured for a period of 30 days. 

Additionally, owners may choose one of the following options if they would like to do so:

 


Option A        

Continue exactly as the pre-auction: half rations & full day paddock.

Tariff :             

R2000 p/m or pro-rata portion thereof.

Extra :              

Compulsory insurance to be renewed after the preliminary 30 day insurance has expired: Mortality cover at 0.6% of the value of the horse per month with Critical Care Cover at R425 per month.

 


Option B      

Same paddock as option A, but horse put into light work: either one of three activities (walker 30 minutes / lunge 20 minutes / rest day) sequentially alternating one per day. ¾ Rations. Week-ends at leisure.

Tarif :               

R3000 p/m or pro-rata portion thereof.

Extra :              

Compulsory insurance to be renewed after the preliminary 30 day insurance has expired: Mortality cover at 0.6% of the value of the horse per month with Critical Care Cover at R425 per month.

 


Option C:      

Same paddock as option A, but horse kept in medium work – Monday lunge, Tuesday outride, Wednesday track fitness, Thursday walker, Friday outride, Saturday and Sunday at leisure. Full rations.

Tariff :

R3500 p/m or pro-rata portion thereof.

Extra :              

Compulsory insurance to be renewed after the preliminary 30 day insurance has expired: Mortality cover at 0.6% of the value of the horse per month with Critical Care Cover at R425 per month.

 


Additional     

R1000 p/m or pro-rata portion thereof to option A, B or C tariff, should you wish for your horse to be stabled at night.

 

Please note:

  • ‘Work’ will be defined as lunging or in the walker. During lunging no gadgets or devices will be used, only free lunging will be done.
  • ‘Ridden work’ will be defined as hacking and or track fitness. No schooling or jumping will be done.
  • Any Veterinary / Farriery requirements will be attended to at owners cost after prior arrangements with stable manager.
  • Emergency procedures will be carried out as needed and billed directly to owner by veterinarian.
  • R1500 will be billed to Western Cape owners to cover pre-travel documentation and arrangements by the veterinarian. 

 

TRANSPORT


Should you need to make arrangements to get your horse home, Callaho recommend the following transport partners. Callaho will provide your horse with a new halter and lead, but we recommend that buyers supply travel boots, a poll guard and a tail bandage for trucking.
