How to Bid
ONLINE BIDDING PROTOCOL
i. The 2024 Callaho Online Auction | Winter Edition is open for registration. Click on Register/Login and fill in the form to create your account.
ii. An email will be sent to you to activate your account. If the email is not immediately in your inbox, please check your junk/spam folder and click activate.
iii. You are now able to login and peruse the catalogue, relevant information and videos pertaining to the collection, as well as familiarise yourself with the auction process, aftersale services and the terms and conditions.
iv. Bidding on all the horses listed in the catalogue will open from 06h00, Tuesday June 18th 2024.
v. The collection has been divided into 2 groups of 10/12 horses each, in the same order as the printed and online Callaho catalogue.
vi. Bidding on each group of horses will close, one group per evening, over two evenings from Friday 21st of June until Saturday evening 22nd of June 2024.
vii. Bidding on individual horses will close sequentially (staggered), one lot at a time, every 10 minutes, from 18h30 onwards.
viii. Each horse’s profile will indicate time remaining before bidding closes.
SCHEDULED CLOSING TIMES
- Lot 01 to Lot 12 closes from 18h30 - 20h30, Friday, May 21st
- Lot 12 to Lot 23 closes from 18h30 - 20h30, Saturday, May 22nd
ix. If a bid is entered within the last remaining 5 minutes before the specified closing time, then a new 5 minute bidding extension opens, commencing from the time the last bid was placed. If no further bids are placed within 5 minutes, bidding will close. This does not have a knock on effect on the next horse scheduled to close.
x. Registered bidders will have their own dash board from whence confidential bids may be placed.
xi. To place an offer on a horse, click on the desired horse’s profile block with your next bidding increment and click “Place Bid”.
xii. An email notification will be sent confirming your bid. From your user dashboard under “My Bids” you will be able to follow the horses you have placed a bid on. The horse’s profile block remains green while your bid stands as the highest offer.
xiii. Once your offer has been counter bid, you will get an email notification that you have been counterbid and have the option to bid again. The horse’s profile block will return to white.
xiv. Bidding on riding horses will start at R80 000.
xv. Bidding on broodmares will start at R50 000.
xvi. On closure of the bidding, the last bidder will immediately be informed via e-mail that their bid has been accepted
