LIVE & ONLINE BIDDING PROTOCOL

i.        The 2025 Callaho Live & Online Auction is open for registration. Click on Register and fill in the form to create your account. Click Login if you have an existing account.

ii.       An email will be sent to you to activate your account. If the email is not immediately in your inbox, please check your junk/spam folder and click activate.

iii.      You are now able to login and peruse the catalogue, relevant information and videos pertaining to the collection, as well as familiarise yourself with the auction process, aftersale services and the terms and conditions.

iv.      Potential online bidders register via the online Callaho auction portal after which they will be able to make bids online once the auction commences.

v.       Live Auction bidders who wish to participate on the auction floor, need to register at the Auction Office on the day of the sale and will be issued with a Buyer’s Card where a copy of the buyer’s ID / valid passport is required.

vi.       No bidders/prospective buyer shall be authorised to bid at a sale unless and until he/she is in possession of a valid and current buyer’s card issued by CALLAHO in respect of the sale in question.

vii.      The collection has been grouped in the same order as the printed and online Callaho catalogue.

viii.      Active online bidding on all the horses listed in the catalogue will open from Wednesday October 1^st 2025.

ix.        Online bidding on the group of horses will be paused from 12h00 on Saturday 4^th of October 2025 until 17h00 that same evening when the Live & Online Auction commences.

x.        Online bidding will resume simultaneously to the auction floor opening with Lot No. 1. Horses will be auctioned in order, closing one lot at a time from 17h00 onwards until bidding closes on the last horse for the evening, sometime after 22h30.

xi.        Registered bidders will have their own dash board from whence confidential bids may be placed.

xii.       To place an offer on a horse, click on the desired horse’s profile block with your next bidding increment and click “Place Bid”.

xiii.      An email notification will be sent confirming your bid. From your user dashboard under “My Bids” you will be able to follow the horses you have placed a bid on. The horse’s profile block remains green while your bid stands as the highest offer.

xiv.      Once your offer has been counter bid, you will get an email notification that you have been counterbid and have the option to bid again. The horse’s profile block will return to white.

xv.        Bidding on riding horses will start at R100 000. 

xvi.       Bidding on broodmares will start at R80 000. 

xvii.      Once a bid has been entered online or indicated with a Buyer’s Card on the floor, it cannot be withdrawn.

xviii.      On closure of the bidding, the last bidder (person responsible for the winning bid) if online, will immediately be informed via an e-mail sent from the Callaho Auction portal that their bid has been accepted or if from the Live Auction floor be issued with and sign the Auction Slip forthwith as acknowledgement of purchase.
