Cheeky, playful and curious; all the hallmarks of his namesake Jonathan Shapiro – a legendary South African political cartoonist renowned for his sharp wit, unflinching satire, and bold visual commentary. Further parallels are his mischievous intelligence and understated mastery of his natural skills. Once mature this kind-eyed “stoutgat” will, like so many of his ilk, reveal a real jumper with a uniquely delightful character.
